Accredited monitors - apply for recognition of current competence (RCC)

Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) is a process enabling accredited monitors to apply for the equivalent unit standard credits. For more information see the Accreditation section or phone the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation (AgITO) at 0800 242 343.

Changes to Bovine Tb Vector Management, May 2008 Update 

In November 2007 the Animal Health Board announced its intention to bring bovine TB vector management under its direct control except in the North Island east coast where the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council will continue to provide this service. New Monitoring Protocols

The possum population monitoring protocols using the trap-catch and Waxtag methods have been reviewed and updated. You can download the updated versions from our publications section (see Codes A1 & A2) or contact NPCA to order hard copies. You can find a summary of the changes from the previous edition in an appendix at the back of each new protocol. NPCA welcomes any feedback.

Pest control contractors merge into single national body

 In November 2007 the former South Island 'Vector Control Contractors' Associations' and the North Island 'PestNet NZ' merged to form one body that represents pest control contractors nationally. The new organisation is called PestNET New Zealand. > See more

Wider role for NPCA?

Broadening the scope of the NPCA’s role to include all vertebrate pests was recommended at the 2007 AGM. The Management Committee will start work on this at its March meeting woth the objective of presenting further recommendations to the 2008 AGM .
