Pests in our Dynamic Landscapes: the Pressure is On!

18th - 20th July 2012
Wairakei Resort, Taupo

Proposals are invited for papers you might want to present at NETS2012, the first combined NPCA and NZBI conference. NPCA is taking a lead role in organising the vertebrate pest content of the programme. Proposals relating to vertebrate pests will be considered in the first instance by NPCA and then by the conference planning committee.

Papers

Presentations can be on any topic relating to vertebrate pest control but if they can link with the overall conference theme of “Pests in our Diverse Landscapes: The Pressure is on!” and the vertebrate pest sub-themes (see Programme outline), so much the better.

We have already received suggestions on possible presentations and interactive opportunities from agencies involved with vertebrate pest control research (AHB, DoC, Lincoln University & Connovation). We suggest you have a look at these (see content suggestions) and would welcome additional suggestions. Note that at this stage they are proposals only and none have been confirmed.

As the combined conference covers the whole biosecurity spectrum the conference committee is looking for presentations on animal pests, weeds, biocontrol, marine biosecurity, insect invaders, community outreach and other biosecurity related issues. Therefore, if you have something that extends beyond the vertebrate pest area that you think would be of interest to others attending NETS2012, please submit your abstract.

Other formats for particpation

We are also seeking proposals for workshops, participation in the poster and sound bite sessions and suggestions for hands-on training opportunities (see Programme outline).

Guidelines for presenters

Guidelines are available for presenters on the NETS section of the NZBI website.

Closing date for abstracts and other format proposals is 16 February 2012.
